There's a lot riding on your springs literally. Springs are your car's connection to the ground and their performance is directly related to ALL the other suspension components. Inconsistent, weak springs can cause a multitude of handling problems and, in some cases, dangerous situations. When it comes to choosing coil springs, we know there are many alternatives, but if you want the best you can get the choice is clear: choose AFCOILS!

While a spring must have sufficient stroke capacity (space between coils) to keep from binding, it must also have sufficient material to absorb the load put onto it. If the spring's material is insufficient, the spring will become over-stressed and the height of the spring can become erratic. Unpredictable spring heights can, of course, be a huge problem in a racing or high performance application where even the slightest change in ride height can cause significant changes in handling and major chassis tuning headaches!
AFCO has made a science of optimizing the variables of coil thickness and spacing to achieve the best combination of coil spacing and material thickness for each rate and height of spring in our vast product line.

Chrome silicon wire (not chrome vanadium) is used in every spring not just certain rates because of its higher tensile strength, longer life and ability to provide very consistent rates throughout a full range of wire sizes.
AFCOIL Coil-Over Springs are cold-wound on the latest automated coiling equipment and heat-treated twice during manufacturing to be able to withstand even the most abusive conditions.
To further enhance durability, AFCOILS are shot-peened and coated (not plated, which can cause hydrogen embrittlement and weaken the spring). These two processes are critical to increasing a spring's strength and durability - not to mention its appearance.

Coated, not plating or painted: it's not just about looking good. The finishes on AFCOIL Springs are designed to maintain the springs' strength and performance as well. Chrome-plating a spring (as practiced by other manufactures) can actually do damage to the spring in the form of hydrogen embrittlement, affecting the usable life span of the spring.
The durable coatings on AFCOIL Springs allow them to perform better, longer and look great at the same time. The NEW Mirror Finish "Vacuum Metal Coated" spring line has all the great looks of a chrome spring with no damaging side-effects associated with chemical plating.

To ensure every AFCOIL you purchase is the very best you can buy, we quality-check each and every spring. Before our springs arrive at your door, they have been put through a minimum of 5 separate quality checks in which the strictest specifications in the industry are enforced. We believe in going the extra distance to deliver you a winning advantage.
Every AFCOIL Coil-Over Spring is machine-ground on both ends to tolerances within 1º and then pressed to solid height and "pre-set." This process virtually eliminates any potential for additional set.
AFCOIL conventional front springs are typically installed in lower control arms which incorporate a stepped helix spring seat built to an SAE specification (.720" of step). The helix seat was designed into lower control arms to ensure consistent installation of the spring and eliminate spring rotation. Any rotation of the spring within the helix affects the actual installed rate of the spring. To minimize this type of rate creep, a conventional front spring should be wound with its bottom end closed so that it sits squarely in the helix seat. No active coil should touch the seat.
AFCOILS are constructed so the only contact with the lower control arm is through an inactive (dead) coil. Consequently, as the spring compresses, the number of active coils in the spring is not affected by the lower control arm. Therefore, the spring's rate remains extremely constant throughout normal suspension travel.
It's the details of thoughtful design and strict adherence to specifications throughout the entire AFCOIL product line that separates AFCO from the competition and gives you the advantage.

To get your car to perform at its fullest potential, your coil springs must be in perfect tune with your chassis weight and dynamics. Achieving this state of tune requires springs that aren't just close or almost accurate, but that are precisely on target with specifications.
AFCO keeps the window on rate variance exceptionally tight. You can count on an AFCOIL spring to meet your expectations and match an AFCOIL of the same rate regardless of manufactured date or "batch."
Of course, this type of close scrutiny means there will be some coils that don't make the cut, and are rejected. The springs that do make it through the process and wear the AFCOIL name are truly a premium product.
The next time you consider one of the "economy spring brands" consider why they are cheaper - and if you can really afford to chance getting the exact spring you're needing.

We don't just claim our springs are better, we back it up! All AFCOILS carry a lifetime warranty to remain within 2% of the original nominal free height.
Why do we guarantee the height of the AFCOIL springs? Because when a spring fails, it is almost always due to "taking a set" or loss of free height. There can be many causes of this effect, including poor design, weak materials, improper winding, etc. ... but the effect is always the same - inconsistent performance. For a spring to perform predictably as it was intended, it must remain at or very close to its originally designed length.
Sure, other brands offer guarantees, but look close! Is it a real, measurable indicator of the spring's condition? Is it 2% or is it more? Don't settle for less, demand proven performance - AFCOILS!
